This Privacy Policy explains how Tideline (“we”, “us”), operated by Lucas Borg, collects, uses and protects your information. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with applicable laws, including South Africa’s POPIA and, where relevant, the GDPR.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and password (passwords are stored securely by our authentication provider, never in plain text).
• Operational data you enter — property details, cleaning and maintenance tasks, supplies, notes, and any guest information you choose to add.
• Booking data — where you connect a calendar (iCal) link, we import booking dates and related details to run your operations.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Paddle. We do not see or store your full card details.
• Basic technical data — standard information such as device/browser type, needed to run and secure the Service.

How we use it

We use your information only to provide, secure, support and improve the Service — for example, to sync your bookings, run your dashboard, and send essential account emails. We do not sell your data, and we do not show third-party advertising.

Service providers

We rely on trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account and app data securely).
• Paddle — payments and billing (merchant of record).
• Netlify — website and app hosting.
• Resend — sending transactional emails.

These providers may process data outside South Africa; we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Cookies & local storage

Tideline uses only essential cookies and browser local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Data retention & your rights

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can export a full backup at any time from within the app, and you can delete your properties and data yourself. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us. To close your account and have your data removed, contact info@tidelinehost.com.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

The Service is intended for adults (18+) running rental businesses and is not directed at children.
